Its been a while, but i'm back in action! This week is very busy for me, got a couple of small orders and then a wedding order for Saturday. But then i get to relax the rest of the long weekend :)

So next week's flavor is Tiramisu, 2 for $6 or 6 for $15. Message me by Tuesday August 2nd if you would like a box!

Downtown service will resume in August

Hi guys!

You must be wondering why I have disappeared and haven't put up any posts to my blogs....well i've just been enjoying summer way too much :) Also, been busy with orders on the weekends so haven't been able to bake for my downtown fans.

I will be resuming downtown service first week of august. I will update at the end of the month what that weeks flavor will be. Till then enjoy!

Hi Everyone!

Its friday! :)

Just wanted to let everyone know that I won't be bringing cupcakes down next week due to the G20 summit.

I will post another update next week for the following weeks flavor.

Also, wanted to thank all of you who purchased cupcakes from me this week!

Cookie Monster Cupcakes!

It was my daughter's 2nd birthday last week and we were celebrating with the Sesame Street theme. Since my daughter is sooo crazy about Elmo (which toddler isn't??), we had decided to order an Elmo cake from Sweetthings - www.sweetthings.ca. I found a picture of a cake i liked online and sent it to Juanita to see if she could replicate it and voila here's how the cake turned out:

Since i'm soo crazy about cupcakes, I had to make some for her birthday. Not only does my daughter love elmo, she also loves cookie monster! So it was decided, cookie monster cupcakes! Now making these cupcakes was "no stroll in the park" LOL. But they turned out great and everyone loved them!

Carrot cupcakes, with buttercream/coconut frosting and a chocolate chip cookie ofcourse! the eyes are edible mints.

What is Red Velvet?

I'm constantly asked this question, so I thought of dedicating a blog to describing how Red Velvet cupcakes are made. Red Velvet is a staple classic dessert among southerners. It is a rich, moist, sweet cake with a dark red, bright red or red-brown color. It is usually prepared as a layer cake somewhere between chocolate and vanilla in flavor, topped with a creamy white icing. Common ingredients are buttermilk, butter, flour, cocoa, and either beets or red food coloring. 6 Tablespoons of Red food coloring is used per batch! Here's what the batter looks like:
